laminate one-sided sheets (offset, digital prints, etc.) of a thickness
of 115 to 350 gsm
(FOLIANT
720HP and FOLIANT Gemini 720: 135 – 350 gsm), or cardboard, with polypropylene
film of thickness 24 to 31 microns, which is easily available on the
market. The film
used
is the same material used on fully automatic machines in laminating
houses worldwide. The FOLIANT offers the same quality and at a lower
costs than the high performance machines.
Several types of polypropylene film in standard widths – 320 mm, 340 mm, also 440, 460, 470, 480, 490, 620, 630, 640, 680 and 690 mm are available on thes market. The length of the film ranges between 2,000 and 3,000 meters, depending on the manufacturer and is available in gloss and matt finish.
The film is applied at temperatures around 100° C. High quality of lamination is achieved with a laminating roller with precise temperature and pressure control. The pressure is set by springs (FOLIANT 400T, FOLIANT 400S, FOLIANT 400A, FOLIANT 520T, FOLIANT 520HP and FOLIANT 720HP) or by a hydropneumatic system (all FOLIANT Gemini and Gulliver models).
